Our Story
The idea for Damero® was born in 2018 when our founder, Jane Smith, struggled to find the perfect tote. As a busy mom of three juggling work, family activities, and everything in between, Jane needed a tote bag that could fit everything without breaking at the seams. After searching high and low for her perfect bag, she decided to take matters into her own hands.
Jane had always been crafty and fashion-forward. She began prototyping tote bag designs using different fabrics and hardware in her basement workshop. After months of testing, she finally created her ideal tote – a lightweight yet study bag with plenty of interior and exterior pockets.
When Jane started carrying her newly created tote, she received so many compliments and questions about where she got it. That’s when the lightbulb went off – there were others like her searching for functional, quality totes. Jane officially launched Damero® in 2020 with just a few tote bag designs.
We started off small, selling at local craft fairs and markets in Nashville, Tennessee where we’re headquartered. As word spread about our durable and thoughtfully designed totes, our products developed a cult following. We graduated from local markets to selling online and in boutiques across the country.
Today, the Damero® team has grown, but we’re still a small business at heart. Jane continues to lead product design and development, creating new tote styles and innovations. We now offer a wide selection of totes in varied sizes, fabrics, colors, and organizational features to suit every customer’s needs. While we’ve come a long way since our humble basement origins, our commitment to helping you carry it all in style endures.

All our totes incorporate interior and/or exterior pockets and compartments to keep your belongings neatly organized. We carefully design our bags with plenty of dedicated spaces for your laptop, water bottle, smartphone, wallet, makeup, books, notepad, and anything else you need to carry. Quality Hardware
We use custom branded, lightweight hardware including zippers, clips, and clasps. This hardware is tested to withstand wear and tear without failing, breaking, or corroding over time. Whether it’s a zip top closure, exterior pockets, adjustable strap, or decorative accents, our hardware is built to last.
Vibrant Colors and Prints

At Damero®, we are committed to making high quality products in a responsible, sustainable way. We proudly manufacture all our totes in the United States in ethical factories that provide:

We partner with small American workshops and manufacturers to produce our bags. By keeping production local, we can oversee the entire manufacturing process from start to finish to ensure quality. We develop close relationships with our manufacturing partners so we can guarantee they meet our strict standards around sustainability and labor practices.
We also prioritize using environmentally friendly materials whenever possible. Many of our fabrics include recycled plastics or organic cotton. We use non-toxic dyes and avoid PVCs, phthalates and other harmful chemicals. Our hardware is nickel and lead free as well.
As a brand, we strive to reduce waste throughout our supply chain. We work efficiently to cut down on excess material use and energy consumption. We recycle and reuse materials whenever we can.
